The first day opens the Potassium cycle as a spark of ash. Its name comes from the English word potash, “pot ash,” because in ancient times it was obtained from the ashes of plants. It is, then, the element that reminds us that from endings come beginnings, that from ash life can rise again. Its identity is one of constant rebirth: what seemed consumed becomes nourishment for what is new.

Potassium teaches that fire does not destroy completely: it always preserves a hidden seed. Just as ashes nourish fertile soil, within us past experience becomes the root of what is beginning.
